Leadership Theory Presentation/Executive Briefing
You will work as a pair to present to your peers in an engaging and thoughtful way about a particular leadership theory. You will be given guidelines for this presentation in class, but expect to construct a 25 minute presentation on a particular leadership theory.
You will be evaluated on your ability to encourage student participation in all facets of your presentation. You should plan to give background on the evolution of the model and contributing scholars to the models development. You will be expected to highlight key concepts, terms and definitions. You should provide a hardcopy executive briefing on the model to the class. The summary should enable your classmates to understand the model and serve as a study guide.
Students will be responsible for creating a one-page (usually double sided) executive briefing on an assigned leadership theory. The briefing should include an overview and key points of the theory, strengths and weaknesses, and 1-2 examples related to the application of the theory within engineering. One should be able to read the executive briefing and have a very good summary and understanding of the leadership theory. Your executive briefing should not simply be a recreation of the content of your PowerPoint presentation; rather it should be a clear, concise summary of the leadership theory/model.
